Purpose: To promote the general welfare for persons with intellectual/developmental disabilities and/or physical disabilities, to act as advocates for these individuals, and to promote the development, implementation and execution of programs designed to benefit persons with disabilities.
Hours of Operation: Meetings are held monthly on the 3rd Thursday at 5:30 pm at the Community Agency Building, 3rd floor conference room. (113 N. Chestnut Street) Open to all.

Description: The Arc of Jackson County is a local non-profit organization advocating for persons with disabilities. We are affiliated with The Arc of Indiana and The Arc of the United States. We serve as a resource and support to persons with disabilities and their families.
Title: Self Advocates Group
Description: The Arc of Jackson County sponsors this self-advocates group for residents of Jackson County. A self-advocate is a person with a disability that advocates for him/herself. The self-advocates will be having monthly events.
Cost: The self-advocate (& caregiver) will be responsible for any charges related to the events, such as a movie ticket (s). Assistance is available upon application to The Arc of Jackson County for those who cannot afford to attend. Transportation can possibly be arranged upon request.
