Purpose: The Indiana Department of Child Services (DCS) protects children from abuse and neglect. DCS does this by partnering with families and communities to provide safe, nurturing, and stable homes. Jackson County DCS provides 24 hour coverage for reporting and investigating suspected child abuse or neglect. The Department also administers child support, child protection, adoption and foster care throughout the state of Indiana.

Mission The Indiana Department of Child Services leads the state’s response to allegations of child abuse and neglect and facilitates child support payments. We consider the needs and values of all we serve in our efforts to protect children while keeping families together whenever possible.
