Purpose: To assure that all Indiana families with infants and toddlers experiencing developmental delays or disabilities have access to early intervention services close to home when they need them. This is accomplished through the implementation of a comprehensive, coordinated system of local interagency councils called first steps.

Program Information

Description: First Steps staff works with families to ensure the lowest cost possible for services. Evaluations are offered at no cost to families and the standard evaluation covers all of the domains listed above. Additionally, your Service Coordinator is free of charge and helps connect families with agencies and clarify the whole process. Finally, First Steps provides services with co-payments based on the family’s income. Many of our families pay no co-pay.
