Agency Information
Name: Freeman Army Airfield Museum
Category: Veterans, Museum, Local Institution
Purpose: The mission of the Freeman Army Airfield Museum is to educate the public about and preserve the history of Freeman Army Airfield as a military training facility and foreign aircraft evaluation center. We preserve and honor the memory of the World War II veterans who trained and served here, as well as the civilians who helped the base function during and shortly after the war.
Hours of Operation: Open Saturday mornings 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, except for Christmas & New Year's weekends, or call for an appointment. Groups welcome.
Additional Information
- The museum has displays including a flight simulator, firearms & edged weapons, operational 1942 Ford fire truck, military art, aircraft engines, and parts from WW-II enemy aircraft. It typically takes about 1.5 hours to tour our 2 buildings.
